Dr. P.R. Jagannathan

Dr Jagannathan is well known in the industry as an expert on Sustainability and Climate Action and has more than 25 years of professional experience in the Buildings and Environment space with a specific focus on developing Policies and frameworks. As Senior General Manager, Sustainability at Sobha Realty, he is entrusted with the task of driving Sustainability and Climate action across the business value chain through strategic interventions in the short, medium & long term. He is also responsible for embedding ESG principles across the group including articulating them through climate reporting and establishing a climate road map.

As Sustainability Head at Trakhees a Regulatory authority in Dubai, he has designed, developed, and administered major policy tools surrounding Energy efficiency, green building code and Certification and in addition established a robust infrastructure for their implementation. He was an active working group member in several of Emirate’s strategic programs including 2040 Master plan, DSM, and Dubai Code unification. He further spearheaded the design and development of a unique green building certification system.

Dr Jagannathan has worked in India, Malaysia, Oman, and Qatar and carries a rich experience to his credit. He has participated as speaker in numerous events to discuss key topics including ESG, Green buildings, Decarbonization, Climate change, Net zero, and Circularity. He has served as the Chairman of “The Arab Green Summit” TAGS, a transformational multi sectorial climate themed and net zero aligned summit that concluded successfully in Dubai in June 2022. He believes the global race towards net zero poses the greatest opportunity for sustainability, introspection, and innovation, which should not be missed.
