Mario Cardenas

With over 25 years of professional experience, Mario Cardenas is an accomplished Project Manager, Senior Technical Architect, and Head of BIM recognized for leading enterprise-wide digital transformation in the built environment. He has established and governed comprehensive BIM strategies, standards, and implementation frameworks across multidisciplinary teams, enabling efficient model development from Concept Design through Good-for-Construction stages. Mario has contributed his expertise in Building Information Modelling with leading organizations including Killa Design, Binghatti, KEO International Consultants, Studio International Consultants, and with renowned architect Santiago Calatrava.

At Azizi Developments, Mario led the company’s BIM transformation, expanding from no BIM capability to more than 80 active BIM projects across multiple disciplines. He oversees digital collaboration across international teams and continues to drive innovation, standardization, and BIM maturity across large-scale residential, hospitality, and special projects.

Mario is also an accomplished artist and photographer, having received more than 400 awards in international photography competitions.
